Apr 26

The sales funnel has been an essential element of business and marketing for many years. Recently, it appears to me that the topic of using funnels to promote Internet business is popping up everywhere on the web.

Many people want to know more about the concept of marketing and how it can be used in their online business marketing strategies. Read on to learn more on the sales funnel to ensure Internet marketing success.

What is the Sales Funnel?

A marketing funnel isn't a funnel. The use of the term "funnel" to describe this marketing concept is simply to help visualize and explain the sales process from beginning to the end. It is a wide opening for customers who are called "Unqualified Prospects" at the top, and a smaller opening for conversion sales at the bottom. It's a good comparison.

The top of the funnel or entry point to the funnel are those who we may consider as "unqualified prospects" These are people who could need your services or products however, you've never contacted them before. After many sales calls and offers you've contacted people who have bought your product or services.

A lead generation funnel's effectiveness is due to its capability to monitor the actions of your prospects at various stages of the expanded sales process. The sales funnel permits you to predict the number of potential customers who will eventually become customers by calculating the prospects who are qualified at each step.

The sales funnel allows you to identify where your sales process is not working and where it is succeeding. It can also help you determine if your campaign is not reaching enough customers. This information helps you choose the best place to focus your efforts to ensure that sales are at the correct level and to meet the marketing objectives. It's used as a method to monitor and control the customers sales process.

The Sales Funnel Top, Front or End

The uppermost part of your sales funnel is going to be the most active part of your sales funnel and will require the most constant testing. There is no limit to your imagination or resources in front-end strategies.

The primary goal is to get new customers and convert them to buyers.

The potential customer is "qualified" when they sign up or sign up for something you provide. This is the stage in the sales funnel where the prospective customer or "Unqualified prospect" becomes a qualified leads due to the actions they've taken which show they are sufficiently interested to purchase your product.

You need to drive targeted traffic on your blog, website or squeeze page for your front-end system to function. The most efficient methods and resources for doing this include article marketing, PPC adverts, social media (Google+, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube), banners, blogging, forum posting as well as content marketing.

There are many ways to "qualify" an "unqualified potential customer. A squeeze page is among the most efficient ways to "qualify" the unqualified prospect. It lets you provide something valuable, relevant to your products or services, that people can receive for free or at a greatly reduced cost in exchange for their email address. The products included include newsletters, videos, eBooks, email courses, and other related reports.

The front end of your sales funnel is the point where potential customers are attracted to you. But what do you think of the back-end?

The Back-End, or Bottom of The Funnel

The back-end or bottom of the funnel where main profit and sales are made. It is where you will typically find higher-priced products there. These products are generally relevant to the exact same market, but in different formats like audio or video live interaction, private consultation.

The primary distinction between the front-end service and the back-end is the type or price of the customer.

It is true that only a tiny percent, maybe 1 to 2 percent of the total number of people who enter your front-end, will end up in your back-end. This is due to a small few will invest a greater amount of money.

Products and services that are front-end may cost less than $100, however back-end services, products, and services typically run between 100 and 1000 dollars. This means that the top of the funnel or the back-end, the primary source for revenue for your Internet business. It's also the most reliable and secure area of the sales process.

As I mentioned in the past, the sales funnel is customizable as much as your imagination and resources permit.
